There is water falling from the sky!

Yes, this is a newsworthy event. We did mention the ten year drought, right?
Our tanks are full, our buckets are full, and there's more rain coming! The only downside is that our heater doesn't work when it rains...
(Caught the early train every day this week. It looks like the just-in-time pattern has successfully been adjusted to the allow-a-bit-of-extra-time pattern. Bed times were also better this week.)

Date: 2008-11-27 01:33 am (UTC)We're supposed to have thunderstorms today, followed by a couple of days of showers. *crossed fingers*
Our state government is running for hiding at the next election on this issue though. They refuse to make rainwater tanks mandatory. They want to build a pipeline from a severely stressed river system to feed Melbourne. And they decided that rather than doing the right thing and going to stage 4 restrictions when we hit the trigger point a year or two ago, they would avoid it by inventing a shiny new level - stage 3a. This year, they've come up with a per person "water target". A voluntary target, for what's forecast to be a long hot summer. And they won't move off stage 3a even if we hit the stage 4 trigger points. GRRR.
Do we have to run OUT of water before they do something useful?
