Why does grass make you itch?

I've never understood this. It's such lovely soft green new grass. I lay around in it for an hour. Now I itch where I touched the grass. But at the time, it was fine.

Have finally made some progress with this insane databases assignment. I now have my utilities and framework set up. Just need to type (copy out) the appropriate database connection stuff.
