Eeeeewww...
May. 14th, 2002 07:51 pmThere was a caterpillar in my vegetables! And I nearly ate it.
Eeeewww....
I can sit in front of the computer for a couple of hours at a time now. And I can breathe again. All good.
My current religious query: how do miracles work in the modern world? I mean, assuming you believe the Bible's tale, God was always around in ancient history. He walked with Adam and Eve, appeared as pillars of fire, healed the sick, etc. But he doesn't fix the many nasty things in today's world (like poverty and sickness). One explanation that some have put forward is that Christians act as his hands and feet. Which is cool. But where does that leave miracles? If something happens that you prayed for, is it God? Or would it have happened anyway? Is faith just attributing all the good things that happen to you to God, while saying that the bad ones are acts of the devil?
Okay, gotta go put this program together. Lecturer hasn't replied to email asking for extension. Maybe I won't need one anyway.
