Yes, I did indeed get Eric out of bed at 6 am to go swimming. I am still faintly startled that I managed to accomplish this, given his, uh, aversion to the dawn hours.

He is, however, already making semi-excuses about repeating this exercise. Especially in winter. I'm not quite sure if his exhaustion is from the sheer effort of getting out of bed at that hour or the actual swimming. *grin*

Oddly enough, the exercise seems to have energised rather than exhausted me. Yay!

(I also walked to the nearest dry cleaners to drop off some stuff; my favourite dry cleaners have closed. These folk are almost twice as expensive. Grr.)

But I also walked to the station from the dry cleaners, so I feel entirely justified in going to Koko Black later today. :)

Edit: For the record, I managed 12 laps today, including 3 of backstroke and a quarter-lap attempt at freestyle/crawl, which ended because of the uncanny drowning feeling that it evoked.

Oh, well done!

I, alas, had a sick day today (migraine) - and spent much of it feeling guilty because I wasn't swimming. This means I must swim tomorrow *and* on Friday...

Oh, you poor thing! Don't feel guilty though, there's no point doing exercise if you're sick. It only ends in exhaustion and pain and your body really going on strike and more missed exercise.

I'm not very good at common sense in these matters, unfortunately! Anyway, I did my laps this morning, and discovered to my delight that Thursday appears to be the day when nobody goes to the University pool. Interesting how much less tiring the same amount of swimming is when you aren't sharing lanes with people and constantly either having to get out of people's way, move at their pace, overtake, start laps when they are the right distance down the pool, or generally worry about where other people are in relation to your own swimming...
