Scary doctor consultation

Okay, my other half and I went to the local community medical centre this morning to get some prescriptions renewed and address a couple of niggling issues. I didn't really blink when I heard the Chinese name on the booking - I know many doctors who are Chinese. (Let's just say that the reaction from family friends to my decision not to study medicine was ... not encouraging.)

I'm also thoroughly a fan of letting doctors and other professionals migrate into Australia. The more smart people here, the better, yes?

But when I said that I'd had the odd experience of choking when drinking or even just swallowing saliva, he didn't even look down my throat. All he said was that it wasn't normal, but that I should see an ENT surgeon. And this is what the referral letter he wrote for me said: "msss is having problem with swollen her sliver as sometime it gets into her airway for years."
